BMW launches a free iPhone-App “My BMW Remote” for their new models. A connection-kit can be ordered as an accessory, where the SIM-card is installed in the boardcomputer/navigationsystem. Thus the driver can connect his iphone with his car and remote control several functions, connecting via internet or mobile network.

The only equipment requirements are a business or professional navigation-package, a bluetooth connection and an activeted SIM card. Otherwise the system is cost-free for customer.

Few models manufactured in late 2010 already use some key features:

  • Remote Door Lock & Unlock
  • Climate Control
  • Horn Blow:
  • Flash Light
  • Google Local Search
  • Vehicle Finder

On an infopage all services are explained.
