Chevrolet was founded in 1911 and is celebrating 100 years of car manufacturer history. They started at the NAIAS with the premier of a new model. In Europe Chevy will bring out even 7 new models.
One of the founders was race driver and engineer Louis Chevrolet. And in true racing manner, Chevy revels its centennial with a special digital experience on www.Chevy100.com. 16 selected models from across the whole production history, including 1912′s Classic Six to the 2011′s Chevy Volt, compete against eachother for users attention, to pick the best Chevy of all time.
Users can vote for a car by clicking on a Facebook Like-Button that will also put a small post on your personal wall, saying: “I just voted to keep the [whatever car you picked] in the running for Best Chevy of All Time!”
The first round can be voted for a couple of days (currently for 9 days). Users can check in for a notifiction to vote on quarter- and semifinals, and the big finale that will be held on November 3rd, wich is also the founding day and the time of Chevy’s 100th birthday party.
Chevrolet will celebrate the countdown to its 100th birthday on November 3 by encouraging its customers and fans to tell their Chevy stories, vote for their favorite Chevrolet cars and trucks, and take the birthday party to their communities with the help of Chevrolet and its dealers.
Numerous events (as in La Chaux-de-Fonds/Switzerland) and video clips call attention to this birthday to make it as big as possible.
